A number of lucky persons were last Friday, October 25, rewarded with EC$500 cash by telecommunications provider Digicel.{{more}}
The lucky winners were rewarded with the cash just for talking on their Digicel handsets for over three minutes.
Collecting his winnings from Marketing manager at Digicel Juno DeRoche, Winston Shallow said that he welcomed the cash as he has a baby on the way.
âI feel proud. This money will be used to buy some items for my youth, so I give thanks for it stillâ, said Shallow.
Another winner, Sister Clare Harris of the St Josephâs Convent, Fern Side, said that she was surprised when she got the call informing her of her winnings.
âItâs always good to get surprises and maybe I would be able to help someone less fortunate than myselfâ, said Sister Harris.
Denniston Reece also won EC$500. Noticeably excited, Reese said that it felt good to have won.
âI been with Digicel so long and when I heard that I won I feel so happy. I am going to buy something, so when I see it I can remember I win somethingâ, said Reese.
Marketing manager, DeRoche said that Digicelâs Talk and Win promotion allows customers who talk for three minutes not only to get the benefit of 120 free minutes, but also to get the opportunity to be one of four weekly winners of $500 cash.
âJust by talking on your phone for three minutes makes you eligible to collect $500 from the Digicelâ, said DeRoche, who added that every Friday, Digicel will call the weekâs winner during their one hourâDigi Specialâ programme on FM station Hot 97.1. The âDigi Specialâ takes place between 1 p.m and 2 p.m.
