Corporate executive of Karib Cable James Ballantyne and a group of other workers from the company handed over a variety of goods, including toilet paper, adult diapers, soap powder, body soap, disinfectants, bed sheets and face towels, to the home on Friday, during a small ceremony.
Ballantyne noted that as part of their corporate social responsibility programme, which began in February, employees at Karib Cable chose the home to receive some much needed items.
âThis was a collective effort by all the members of Karib Cable who chose the Lewis Punnett Home to receive this token,â the executive said.
âWe want to foster a working relationship with the Lewis Punnett Home from here onwardsâ.
Ballantyne expressed the hope that the donation would aid the Lewis Punnett Home in its ability to look after its patients.
Management and staff of the Lewis Punnett Home expressed their gratitude to Karib Cable for their donation, which, they said, will benefit their residents immensely.
Ballantyne disclosed that the company has sponsored a variety of entities this year, through their programme, in several ways.
He also mentioned two of the programmeâs main goals, which are: âconquering the digital divideâ and âhelping to build prosperous communitiesâ.
The Lewis Punnett Home, which is located in Glen, aims to provide geriatric care through a multidisciplinary approach, thus offering various services which will assist the occupants and other users to maintain a sense of self-worth.(BK)
