PM Gonsalves awarded Order of Liberator General San Marin by Argentina government

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves has been awarded the the Order of the Liberator General San Marin by the government and people of Argentina.{{more}}

Gonsalves received the award earlier this week, while on an official visit to the South American nation. The award is the highest national order that can be awarded to a non- national of Argentina. Other recipients of this order include Vicente Fox, Rafael Caldera, Corazon Aquino, and Chester Nimitz.

While in Argentina, the Prime Minister held talks with the Vice President of Argentina Amado Boudou, along with the Ministers responsible for foreign affairs, health, and national security.

According to a release from communications consultant in the Prime Minister’s officer Elson Crick, coming out of the official visit will be areas of technical cooperation between both countries in education, airport and port development, coast- guard training and health. Opportunities for graduate training are also being made available.

Several technical missions from Argentina, in the areas of small business development and agriculture, will visit SVG over the next nine months for exploratory talks.

The Prime Minister will host a media conference at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 at the Cabinet Room, during which he will provide more details about his visit.
