Ministry officials get update on parrot breeding, conservation programme

A delegation from the Association for Conservation of Threatened Parrots (ACTP) is presently in the State, meeting with officials in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.{{more}}

The delegation is here to update the Ministry on the existing parrot breeding, conservation programme, and to hand over, today Friday, several pieces of equipment to the Forestry Department and community based organizations, to assist in the country’s National Parrot Protection Programme.

The ACTP is an established bird conservation organization, working in several OECS, African, Latin and South American countries for the protection of threatened parrots.

The delegation will leave the State tomorrow.
