Nation publications appoints new Editor-in-Chief

Senior Barbadian journalist Roy Morris has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of all Nation publications.{{more}}

Morris, currently the Editor-in-Chief and Chief Executive Officer of Barbados Today, officially takes up the position from September 16.

Morris, who holds a Bachelor of Science in mass communication from Virginia Commonwealth University and a post graduate certificate in newsroom management and investigative journalism from the University of Maryland, brings more than 30 years’ practical media experience to the post.

He is also experienced in newspaper project management, including newsroom design and planning, designing emergency management systems for newsrooms, personnel planning and deployment, and the establishment and management of new media divisions.

Harold Hoyte, Chairman of the Nation Publishing Co. Limited, has welcomed the return of Morris, who previously served at the Nation for more than 28 years.

“We are happy for Roy to rejoin the Nation team. It could come at no better time as we mark the 40th anniversary of the Nation newspapers.

“We believe that Roy is well qualified and experienced to take on the enviable role of Editor-in-Chief and he is up to the task of navigating the newspaper product through these challenging times as we continue to reach and serve our audiences and customers via multiple channels and platforms,” Hoyte said.
