Youlou Pan Movement elects new executive

A new executive has been elected to serve the Youlou Pan Movement (YPM) for the period 2013 to 2015. The election took place at the YPM’s biennial convention on August 25,{{more}} at the CDC conference room.

President of the executive is Oneka Morgan. The other members of the executive are: vice president Kurtlan deShong; secretary Christal Oliver; assistant secretary Leslyan Millington; treasurer Marc Hillocks; public relations officer Marla Nanton; education officer Francis “Pes” Llewellyn and trustees Ann Jones and Delaurette McKenzie-Delves.

Oneka Morgan, the newly elected president, congratulated the out- going president, Warren Knights, for his efforts during his tenure and vowed to continue with the development of pan.

The YPM is the governing body for pan in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Among other things, the aim of the organization is to unite and organize all pannists, builders, arrangers and tuners in St Vincent and the Grenadines. The YPM also aims to work with other cultural organizations to promote the survival and development of all aspects of the Vincentian culture.
