SVG Community College holds poster competition

The SVG Community College will hold a poster session of its Summer Science Research Programme on “Plant-Derived Anticancer Agents.”{{more}}

The poster session is the culmination of a six-week programme sponsored by UNESCO, in which second year students in Chemistry and Biology were engaged in identifying and classifying additional medicinal plants of SVG, extracting the active medicinal components from some of these plants such as soursop and screening the extracts as potential anticancer agents by their effect on bacteria.

The poster session will take place at the SVG Community College Chemistry and Biology Laboratories at Villa Flat on Friday, August 23, between 12 noon and 4.30 p.m. The public is invited.
