McKie explained that since the conclusion of Carnival on July 9, his Ministry has been holding meetings with the CDC to review the various components of the festival.

He said the October scheduled symposium will bring stakeholders together to reflect on Vincy Mas 2013 and start advancing plans for 2014.

“This is going to be a very important exercise because all of the stakeholders, all of the components, you have indicated that you want to take ownership of Vincy Mas,” McKie disclosed at the recent CDC prize giving ceremony.

“After all, it is our single largest national cultural event in St Vincent and the Grenadines. So why not take ownership of it?”

McKie said he is confident that the symposium will have a positive outcome, as stakeholders will have the opportunity to share their views and ideas on how to continue making Vincy Mas the hottest Carnival in the region.(AA)
