75 per cent pass rate for SJCM in CSEC 2013
The St Josephâs Convent Marriaqua (SJCM) achieved an overall pass rate of 75 per cent in the 2013 Caribbean Examinations Council Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC).{{more}}
Last year, the school recorded an overall 67.5 per cent pass rate.
A release from the institution highlighted the top performers for 2013; were Lanese Trimmingham, Wendy Ann Cato, Joshua Gooding, Shanise Humphery and Ronessa John.
Trimmingham, who attained 10 subjects, gained seven grade ones, a grade two and two grade threes.
Both Cato and Gooding passed 10 subjects and each recorded five grade ones, four grade twos and one grade three.
Humphery, who did 11 subjects, earned four grade ones, three grade twos and four grade threes, while John did eight subjects and gained five grade ones, two grade twos and one grade three.
The release stated that there were 100 per cent passes in Agricultural Science (double award), Food and Nutrition, Agricultural Science (single award), Information Technology, P.E and Sport and Principles of Accounts.
A 98 per cent pass rate was recorded in Electronic Document Preparation and Management (EDPM) and a 96 per cent pass rate in Integrated Science.
Economics and Human and Social Biology both recorded an 89 per cent pass rate, Chemistry recorded an 83 per cent pass rate while Caribbean History and Social Studies recorded an 82 per cent and an 81 per cent pass rate respectively.
