On Tuesday, at the close of the High Courtâs Criminal Assizes, Bruce-Lyle said the local constabulary is one of the best, if not the best.
âWe must learn to appreciate what we have…,â Bruce-Lyle said.
The judge noted that heâs been hearing statements about the justice system not functioning. He further added that there are some people who are always criticising the justice system in St Vincent and the Grenadines, but he made it clear that St Vincent and the Grenadines has one of the best.
âWe are criticising ourselves unnecessarily…,â the judge said.
Bruce-Lyle also congratulated some members of the police force in attendance, who were recently promoted.
Also sharing brief remarks, Justice Wesley James, like Bruce-Lyle, congratulated the jurors for their service. He also thanked the prosecutors, the police and members of the Coastguard for their service throughout the Assizes. (KW)
