Latin America, Caribbean ministers meet to develop action plan for poverty eradication

Minister of Agriculture Saboto Caeasar left the state on Monday, July 22, to attend the First Meeting of Ministers and Authorities in Social Development,{{more}} Hunger Eradication and Poverty of the Community of Latin America and the Caribbean, being held in Venezuela.

The mandate of the meeting is to develop an action plan for public policies to better address the challenges of transforming Latin America and the Caribbean into an area free of hunger and poverty

The Minister is scheduled to meet with the Ministers of Food and Energy to begin negotiations to facilitate an Oil-For-Food trade between Venezuela and St Vincent and the Grenadines, under the PetroCaribe arrangement.

The Minister is accompanied by Colville King, agricultural officer in the Planning Unit.
