CARICOM Youth Ambassador for St Vincent and the Grenadines and vice dean of Regional Initiatives Tamira Browne will lead a delegation of CARICOM Youth Ambassadors to an international forum in Russia.{{more}}

The participation of the delegation in the International Youth Forum Seliger 2013 from July 21 to 28 in Moscow, Russia, is as a result of the partnership with the CARICOM Secretariat, the United Nations Development Programme and the various Ministries of Youth.

According to a release, Seliger 2013 is an international project aimed at uniting the world leaders of tomorrow.

“The CARICOM Youth Ambassadors are a team of 1,000 exceptional individuals who would join together to build an international network as the Forum is geared to uniting active young people from all over the world to examine developing global trends. It is expected that this would enable young leaders to identify opportunities for growth and development within their communities, countries and the international sphere,” the release said.

International Youth Forum Seliger features cutting-edge training and insights delivered across a range of courses within four blocks: Politics and International Relations; Growth and Sustainable Development; Innovation and Enterprise; and Creative Media and Public Relations. The sessions are based on current realities and are delivered by internationally renowned experts.

The main goal of the Forum is to build an international community of young people based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, the promotion of personal and democratic liberties and recognition of cultural diversity.

According to the release, upon return to their respective CARICOM territories, local and regional organisations, the Ambassadors are responsible for reporting on the Forum to the various stakeholders and would also be working on projects that would build the capacity of regional youth through the utilisation of their increased competences and networks.
