The two-day festival, which will be held on July 20 and 21 at the Kingstown Cruise Ship Terminal, is expected to have a food bazaar atmosphere, where local restaurants, chefs, caterers, embassies and ethnic groups will display a variety of foods from their respective countries.

Additionally, craft, music and other cultural presentations will be a part of the activities.

Each day will feature short entertainment presentations, as well as late afternoon concerts and a play area for children will be on site.

With an entrance fee of EC$5 for adults and children 12 years and older, patrons will have the opportunity to sample food and purchase at a low price.

Saturday, July 20, will be dubbed “Folklore Day,” while Sunday, July 21 will be “Family Fun Day”.

Activities are expected to begin at 12 p.m. and end at 7 pm on both days.

Cultural Festival 2013 is a collaborative effort of the SVG Port Authority and the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture, as they hope to take advantage of the large number of visitors during the Carnival season.

According to a press release, the two entities feel that “it is a way to present wider offerings, beyond carnival, of the country and increase the potential of additional visits to St Vincent and the Grenadines through word of mouth advertising based on an enjoyable experience”.

Registration forms for persons who wish to participate can be found at the Time Out Cafe at the Cruise Ship Terminal. All registration and table fees of EC$50 per table should be returned to the Kingstown Cruise Ship Terminal by July 1.
