Investigations into the accident that took place in Layou on May 22, leaving one boy seriously injured and another dead, are ongoing.

This was confirmed on Tuesday, by a police officer stationed at the Layou Police Station.{{more}}

“The matter is still on investigation,” he said.

“There are no charges being laid”.

On May 22, Jovel Glasgow and his cousin Lenroy Adams were making their way home after bathing in a river, when they were struck by a vehicle while trying to cross the road.

While both children were seriously injured, Glasgow got the worse of the incident, and succumbed to his injuries, dying on the same day.

Glasgow, who would have celebrated his sixth birthday on August 4, was buried at a funeral in Layou in early June, while four-year-old Adams was released from the hospital late last month.

It was reported that Rae-Ann McDowall, a 24-year-old public relations clerk and driver of motor vehicle PS 491, was assisting the police with investigations relating to the traffic accident.(BK)
