COMFI, through the Centre for Enterprise Development Inc (CED), will host a one-week Community Training for Entrepreneurship Development (CPED) workshop for 30 small business owners and potential operators from June 17 to 21. The workshop will create a forum for participants to acquire the necessary information that would be required before engaging in a business activity, and also encourage an approach to entrepreneurship that requires proper planning.

The CPED training was developed by CED to, among other things, to facilitate the development of an enterprise culture in St Vincent and the Grenadines, through the creation of viable micro and small enterprises and in the growth and development of such existing businesses.

The one-week workshop will take place at the Kingstown Cooperative Credit Union (KCCU) Conference Room from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily. Participants will be enlightened and trained in areas such as Customer Service Excellence; Costing & Pricing Products; Record Keeping; Marketing; NIS for Small Businesses/Self Employment – Contributions and Benefits; and the Roles and Responsibilities of the SVG Bureau of Standards.

COMFI was launched on February 18, 2013 with a mandate to address the needs of small businesses in St Vincent and the Grenadines, by proving a range of financial and technical services, including loans, fixed deposits, training, business management and savings accounts.
