Students urged to participate in FCCA Essay Contest

Primary and secondary school students in St Vincent and the Grenadines are being invited to participate in the FCCA Foundation for the Caribbean 2013 Children’s Essay Contest.{{more}}

Participating students are required to submit one essay of 500-750 words on the topic: “What makes my destination different from others”.

For the Junior Division (Ages 12 years and under) student may not have passed his/her 13th birthday by September 26, 2013.

In the Senior Division (Ages 13 years to 16 years) the student may not have passed his/her 17th birthday by September 26, 2013.

The first, second and third placed students in each division will win US$3,000, US$1,500 and US$1,000 respectively. In addition, the winning schools will be awarded sums similar to the students’.

Essays will be judged on the following criteria: content/subject, creativity, style/structure and grammar.

The deadline for submission of essays to the Ministry of Tourism (2nd Floor, NIS Building, Kingstown) is Friday, June 21. Entries must be accompanied by an entry form, which can be obtained at the Ministry of Tourism.
