Glasgow, who would have celebrated his 6th birthday on August 4 of this year, was the second of three children born to his mother, Netha Glasgow.

When SEARCHLIGHT visited Netha on Sunday, she shared that she has not yet come to terms with the fact that one of her sons is gone.

“I miss my son very much and I wish that I could turn back time to get him back, but he [is] already [in] God’s hands,” the grieving mother said.

Kindergarten teacher at the Layou Government School, Ortricia Jeffers, has also not come to terms with her pupil’s death and describes the situation as surreal.

“I’m at a stage where I’m not ready to talk about it,” Jeffers stated.

Glasgow was described by his teacher as a quiet and reserved little boy, who smiled frequently and got along with his classmates very well.

“I can’t say that I had any disciplinary issues with him,” the teacher said. “The last thing he said to me on Friday…we have a thing that we say, ‘See you later alligator,’ ‘After a while crocodile’…that’s the last thing he said to me as he went out the door”.

Last Wednesday, Glasgow was making his way home after bathing in a river near his home, when he and his cousin, 4-year-old Lenroy Adams, were struck by an oncoming vehicle, as they tried to cross the road.

He was transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where he later died. It was reported that he had sustained injuries to his head.

Rae-Ann McDowall, a 24-year-old public relations clerk, driver of motor vehicle, PS 491, is assisting the police investigations into the circumstances of the traffic accident.

A report from the Police Public Relations Department said a post mortem is to be carried out on the deceased child to determine the cause of death.(BK)
