Steele met his death in the wee hours of the morning of May 5, at Rose Place.

A police report states that Steele sustained gunshot wounds to the back of his head and chest.

Details surrounding the incident are still, however, sketchy.

According to information reaching SEARCHLIGHT, Steele, who is the son of Sharon Steele and stepson of veteran calypsonian Robert “Patches” Knights, was standing in the vicinity of MagiKleen on Queen Street, when it is alleged that two men fired upon him.

Steele was pronounced dead on arrival at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

Up to press time yesterday, no arrests had been made in the matter.

Steele’s murder was the first of two which took place in Kingstown in less than 24 hours over the weekend.

Later that day, at about 10:30 p.m., Naphtali Diaz was gunned down in the area of Metrocint Insurance Building at Paul’s Avenue.
