Toastmasters winners set for contests in Guyana

SVG Toastmasters have selected their representatives in the District 81 International Speech and Table Topics Contests to be held in Guyana, May 17 to 19.{{more}}

Last Saturday, Toastmasters and members of the general public gathered at the Paradise Beach Hotel in Villa to witness the local leg of these two contests.

Of the participants in the International Speech category, Toastmaster Reynold Baptiste emerged as the winner, with Toastmaster Keisha Johnson winning second place. In the Table Topics Contest, Toastmaster Shafique Sam won the judges favour, with Toastmaster Laela Myers taking second position.

The winners will now travel to Guyana for the next leg of the competition, which takes place on Saturday, May 18, during the District 81 Conference. They will compete against Toastmasters from throughout the Caribbean, in their bid to be declared Caribbean champions of International Speaking and of Table Topics.
