Ruthland Vale Plan residents get a chance to own their own land

Seven Residents of Ruthland Vale Plan in Layou who have been occupying lands for over 36 years, now have the opportunity to own their lands.{{more}}

Yesterday, Parliamentary Representative for Central Leeward Maxwell Charles handed over letters to residents, which will give them the opportunity to obtain deeds for their lands.

Charles said that his Government ensures that dead property is turned into live property and he is working diligently on his constituency’s behalf. He noted

that the distribution of the letters is just the first step for his residents to obtain their deeds.

The Parliamentary Representative noted that the lands will be sold at 50 cents per square foot, as the Government is ensuring that residents get lands at reasonable rates.

Several of the residents expressed thanks to the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines and the parliamentary representative for giving them the opportunity to own the lands.

Residents will be given the opportunity to pay for their lands in four installments.

The residents who received letters are: Verene Lynch, Travis George, Vincent Velox, Kamara Hazelwood, Lorenta Peters, Nathan Sam, Tonya and Ron Christopher. (API)
