A truly innovative online MBA

Executives in the Caribbean can now benefit from a truly innovative MBA. Edinburgh Napier University’s Global Online MBA and MSc Business Management programmes (MBM) are internationally recognised. The university is approved by the Queen’s Privy Council to award degrees and was a winner of the Queen’s Anniversary Prizes in 2009.{{more}} The University is a Top 10 UK University for graduate employability in the UK, which speaks to the industry relevant programmes that they offer.

Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) offers a General MBA and specializations including Marketing & Sales Management, Finance, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Banking, HR Management and Events Management. The same specializations are available on the Master of Science Business Management programmes. Seven innovative modules are offered and a project. Core modules include Leading Strategic Decision Making and Building High Performing Organisations, and are relevant to the issues industries face in challenging times.

Leading regional employers have embraced these innovative programmes with, for example, Sandals Resorts International selecting the MBA to offer to their executives through their exciting Sandals Corporate University initiative.

Andrew Cawley, CEO of Southpoint Education International, ENU’s regional representative based in Florida, describes the Online MBA and MBM as ‘amongst the most technically advanced and innovative in the world, enabling students to access their virtual learning environment at any time and place’. He believes the result is a more responsive and cost effective learning experience, allowing students from around the Caribbean the opportunity to develop their career prospects. This innovation extends to the production and delivery of the substantial learning materials which are interactive, supported by module leaders and can be studied 100 per cent online, including on iPad and tablet computers. Mr Cawley believes strongly that students will not feel isolated; ‘the use of video and social media is incorporated into the programme to increase relevance and social engagement while studying,’ he said.

Programmes are mainly assessed by assignments. Exams are case study based and can be taken from the comfort of your home. According to Mr Cawley, “the modules help students engage in creative problem solving, critical reasoning and strategic thinking, with the ability to apply these skills and knowledge effectively.”

Flexible entry is available, as applicants without a Bachelor’s degree, but with sufficient work or supervisory experience can be admitted. The programmes are 100 per cent supported and delivered directly by Edinburgh Napier University.

Completed in the minimum of 18 months, the MBA and MBM can be extended up to a maximum of four years, if necessary. These world class programmes offer exceptional value and are available for under US$10,000. Students can take advantage of modular, ‘pay as you go’ instalments.

The regional representative office in Florida assists with application procedure and offers pastoral or non-academic support throughout the programme. They are recruiting students now for the upcoming May intake, with opportunities to enroll also in September and January each year.
