US magazine names Baptiste among its top global women

The International Global Affairs Magazine – the Diplomatic Courier in Washington D.C – has named the founder of the Democratic Republican Party (DRP) Anesia Baptiste among its top global women{{more}}, as it celebrated International Women’s Day 2013 in its March/April Special Edition Issue for International Women’s Day 2013. This was revealed to Baptiste on March 8, International Women’s Day, as she attended the Women’s Democracy Network International Women’s Day Conference in Washington, D.C.

The Diplomatic Courier explains that every year, in honour of International Women’s Day, they honour Top Global women who have worked to improve their societies and hence the world.

“All of the women are nominated by other women and while some may be famous and others not so well known, all of them are deserving of this honor and much more”, says page 32 of the Magazine in which Baptiste’s photograph and profile are featured.

Baptiste was nominated for this international recognition by the Women’s Democracy Network (WDN), a branch of the International Republican Institute (IRI), among other women members of the WDN who attended the WDN’s International Women’s Day Conference 2013 in Washington from 3rd to 8th March, 2013.

Baptiste’s profile and interview appear at the top of the list on the online version of the Diplomatic Courier magazine at http://www.diplomaticourier.com/special-features/top-global-women-2013 and her profile and interview are also selected for feature on the Magazine’s facebook page.

The Diplomatic Courier is a Global Affairs Magazine that “connects the next generation of leaders in diplomacy and foreign policy to current diplomatic and policy professionals in international relations.” Its mission is to“publish the next generation of foreign policy leaders alongside the foreign policy establishment as well as publish diplomatic affairs and related news from global perspectives,” according to its online Facebook page.

The Women’s Democracy Network (WDN) was established in 2006 as an initiative of the International Republican Institute. Its objective is to increase women’s political participation, leadership and representation in elected office. At present, the WDN is active in 61 countries in every region of the world, with 15 country chapters.
