The human chain and symposium will begin at 10:45 a.m.

The theme is mandated to sensitize the general public on all gender related issues. The Gender Division focuses on various conventions that St Vincent and the Grenadines has signed on to and uses opportunities like International Women’s Day to sensitize and build awareness around gender issues.

“CCA Ltd sees its corporate responsibility to educate the community of Canouan on these illicit behaviours so that there will be an improvement in health and healthy lifestyles and to move forward positively,” a release from CCA said.

The Division’s aim, throughout the month of March, is to reach as many communities as possible, using International Women’s Day, March 8, as a springboard to host activities throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines.

One such activity is the Domestic Violence Symposium/Human Chain in the community of Canouan.

“The activity will be used as a tool to encourage both males and females to work together to stamp out the scourge of violence,” the release said.
