SJCK Young Leaders continue on their mission of change

In commemoration of International Day of Women, the Young Leaders of the St Joseph’s Convent honoured all their female teachers by presenting them with rosettes on March 8.{{more}}

The school’s principal was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

The next day, March 9, the Young Leaders of the St Joseph’s Convent Kingstown transformed their school’s compound into a soup kitchen for the underprivileged, and spent the greater part of the afternoon interacting with persons who are normally stigmatised because they are homeless.

This activity comes just after the Young Leaders completed their visits to retirement homes as well as pre-school and primary school students in the Kingstown area.

The generosity of the group was well received and appreciated by approximately 50 persons, many of whom were males.

Because of the response by the public, the group has decided to make the event a weekly event. Their aim is to model the change that they wish to see in the world: taking care of all those who are vulnerable and need the greatest support.

The theme that the group has adopted is: “To succeed, change is what we need; look into yourself and be that change”.
