CSC is intended to bring together exceptional leaders from across the Commonwealth to tackle current problems faced by businesses, government and society today.
The conference will bring together over 100 leaders from across the globe, from March 16 to 24 in London, and part two in Mumbai or Johannesburg in June 2013. Peters-Fraser is currently one of two social development practitioners attending the conference from the Caribbean, the other being Chantal Munroe-Knights – Executive Coordinator of the Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC). Only three persons have been selected from the Caribbean to attend the conference.
The study conferences, which began in 1956, have not happened in recent years. The HRH Duke of Edinburghâs Commonwealth Study Conferences (UK Fund) has joined forces with Common Purpose, an international leadership development NGO, to develop and connect some of the most talented leaders across the Commonwealth and Common Purpose will be re-inventing them under the name CSCLeaders.
The persons selected for this study Conference are intended to be the brightest, best and senior leaders who: operate at a senior, strategic level within their organizations; are at the pinnacle of their career and hold significant power or influence in their current role.
The idea behind the conference is to get 100 leaders from a third of the world (what the Commonwealth covers) who share the values of democracy, to learn and work together.
The participants will be challenged to implement their ideas, providing a focus for their continuing links. Sharing the outcomes each year will help to frame or reframe a major issue in the world.
