16 questions down for oral answer next Parliament

Leader of the Opposition, Arnhim Eustace wants Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr Ralph Gonsalves to say if the government borrowed $10 million recently from the National Insurance Services (NIS).{{more}}

This is one of the 16 questions on the order paper for oral answer when the next sitting of Parliament convenes on Monday.

Gonsalves will also be required to state the amount owed by his government to the University of the West Indies.

The opposition is expected to continue pressing for reform in the agriculture sector, with Eustace posing a question to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Transformation and Industry to tell the House what was the estimated cost of the proposed replanting exercise, the government’s contribution and farmer institution contribution.

Roland Matthews, area representative for North Leeward is expected to question the Minister on two agricultural depots which he claims have been out of service for some time.

And Opposition Senator Linton Lewis will question the prime minister on the numbers of reported incidents of theft of livestock.

The orders of the day include 10 Bills which are down for its first reading.

Among the Bills include the Airport Service Charge and the European Union – Cariforum Economic Partnership Agreement Tariff Customs Duties. (DD)
