The focus was on preventative health care with concerns raised about the increasing incidence of non-communicable diseases such as Cancers, Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity and their attendant illnesses.

Dr Adams attributes the aforementioned illness mainly to one’s lifestyle and urged listeners to eat healthy, local foods, to exercise regularly using a “3:30 approach” (that is exercising at least three times per week for more than 30 minutes) and to have regular medical examinations. He emphasized that early detection is vital for successful medical intervention.

Time was also allocated for questions and answers. While Dr Adams was careful to point out that healing is possible, “one must be careful not to mix faith with foolhardiness” and not hesitate to seek medical advice.

The event was an initiative of Bro. Lerone Issacs, in an attempt to broaden the church’s ministry by addressing the medical concerns of the congregation.
