Speaking on Monday on the New Times radio program, Eustace said that he had instructed his lawyers to write to the prime minister in relation to a matter where he says Gonsalves defamed his character.

“They will write to him, demand an apology and a certain sum of money; that is to be done within a certain period of time; then further legal action will be taken by me against the prime minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves,” Eustace said.

“I want to make that absolutely clear; I have instructed my lawyers and I suspect they will be doing it today,” he continued.

“Very often I don’t pay much attention to these type of things, but this time I am not letting it pass. All sorts of things are being said about people and this time, the prime minister must answer and answer in a court of law if he doesn’t agree to the terms set by my lawyers.”

While Eustace did not specify the statement being complained, he said “The very suggestion is plainly untrue, and ironically, libellous.”

When contacted on Wednesday evening, Gonsalves, said he had not yet received a letter from Eustace’s lawyers. (DD)
