Gould officially retired on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the age of 55.
âI never regret serving the Royal St.Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force,â said Gould, whose career saw him serving on beat and patrol, the Western Division, South Western Division and the Fire Department where he spent the last 12 years.
He said his most memorable experience as a police officer was helping to put out the fire that partially destroyed the Police Headquarters, Kingstown, in July 1988, and another that later gutted the market square, Kingstown.
âI played a role in helping to put out those fires and they have remained with me,â said Gould.
The father of three, Imran Fredericks, Janelle Gould, and Dino Gould, who is married to Anne Gould, is advising young police officers to give of their best.
âYou asked for the job, you have to put your best foot forward. Once you want to make it a career, you have to do what is necessary,â said Gould, adding, âthere are lots of opportunities in the police force for our young people. Police officers have to read and find ways to develop themselves.â
Gould said he does not have any immediate plans after retirement, and will be taking some time to assess his next move.
Superintendent Kenneth John, Head of the RSVGPF Fire Department, said Gould has been very loyal to the Royal St.Vincent and the Grenadine Police Force and the Fire Department wishes him the best.
The Royal St.Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force also thanks Corporal Gould for his years of service and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.
