The truck, TL 598 (Rambo), driven by Eto Franklyn of Overland, was travelling along the Lowmans Leeward main road around 2 p.m. when the brakes failed.
According to witnesses, Franklyn lost control of the vehicle just after passing the Lowmans bus stop.
The truck then overturned, landing in Johnâs yard, and in the process, destroyed part of Johnâs house, uprooted a mango tree and damaged Johnâs van HN784.
Franklyn, along with the truckâs two conductors, 20-year-old Romano Wright and 26-year-old Jason Wright, both of Georgetown, escaped with minor injuries.
The men were taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where they were treated and discharged, a police report said.
“I was just about to come out my house to go into my van when I heard a loud bang. When I looked up the road, I saw the truck coming and I rushed back into the house. But then I ran out the back door.
“When I came round I see the truck in the yard and it even hit my van,â a shaken up John told SEARCHLIGHT on Thursday.
The truck is owed by Ito Franklyn of Overland and contracted to Coreas and Hazells Ltd. (AA)
