The group has prepared a draft programme for implementation in 2013, including human resources to guide the physical transformational works in the gardens; utilization of properties within the gardens to convert them into income generation projects and ordered the preparation of an official programme for the celebrations in 2015 — 250th anniversary of the Botanic Gardens.

The group also deliberated on the issue of fund-raising to support the financing of the transformative works, and the finalisation of the business plan to inform the fund-raising activities, and the application of funds particularly raised for these specific purposes.

A formal launch relating to this programme will be held at a later date, a release from the group said.

The members of the Management Group are Cabinet Secretary Susan Dougan; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture Lavern Grant; hotelier and hortculturalist Flora Gunn; business executive and environmentalist/activist Janike Glass; CEO/Director of National Parks Authority Andrew Wilson, with Chairman of the Jubilee Committee Rene Baptiste as the presiding member of this group.
