UWI Technical Advisory Committee meetings for SVG
The Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines will host the annual meetings of the Technical Advisory Committees (TACs) of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Kingstown, from February 14 to 15, 2013.{{more}}
Biennial Budgets for the period 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 of the four Campuses of the UWI â Cave Hill, Mona, Open Campus and St Augustine â the University Centre and the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) will be reviewed at the meetings.
These meetings have been hosted by fourteen of the sixteen contributing countries since 1999.
âThe University is pleased that the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines has agreed to host this yearâs meeting for the second time, and appreciates the role of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Open Campus, in making arrangements for the meetings,â a release from the organizers said.
The participants for the two days of meetings will include Permanent Secretaries and senior officers from the Ministries responsible for tertiary education of the sixteen contributing countries and the Ministries of Finance of the Campus countries â Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. The Senior Executive Management team of the UWI, including the Vice-Chancellor, Bursars, University Registrar, Principals, Pro Vice-Chancellors, the UHWI CEO and Financial Controller, will also be in attendance, the release said.
Dr Ralph E. Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines, will deliver the keynote address, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Girlyn Miguel will deliver remarks at the Opening Ceremony on Thursday, February 14.
The meetings will end with a reception hosted by the Prime Minister and Mrs Gonsalves at the Prime Ministerâs Residence on Friday, February 15.
The UWI Vice Chancellor will pay a courtesy call on both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education, prior to the two days of meetings.
