NDP ratifies West St George, North Windward candidates

The Central Committee of the opposition New Democratic Party (NDP) has ratified candidates for West St George, Dr Jules Ferdinand and North Windward, Lauren “Sheara” Baptiste.{{more}}

The NDP said in a press release on Wednesday that the ratification took place on January 23, during a meeting of its executive body.

The release said that comments in support of both candidates were made by their respective Constituency Division chairpersons “and others who work along with the candidates on the ground in both constituencies.

“Dr Ferdinand is no stranger to the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, boasting a fine track record in the private sector, and Lauren Baptiste made a name for himself in the constituency of North Windward as a Community activist, an extension officer during the Land Reform days at Orange Hill, and in Sport Turf Development for the National Sports Council and regionally,” the NDP said.

“Both candidates continue to work on the ground in preparation for general elections which can’t come soon enough for the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

“Further, both Ferdinand and Baptiste will fit nicely into the skill set that will enhance national development,” the NDP said.

Frederick and Baptiste made their maiden political addresses during an NDP march and protest rally in November.
