Owner of De Facialist Day Spa Julia Wallace and her small, but efficient staff, cater to the needs of their expanding clientele and offer a wide variety of services.

Among these services are facials, massages, full body waxing that is “gentle but very effective”, manicures and pedicures. Body wraps, body scrubs and ear candling are also offered at the day spa located at Frenches Gate in Kingstown.

The entrepreneur highlighted that facials are customized to suit an individual’s skin type and that she is trained in executing pedicures for ingrown nails and diabetics.

Furthermore, De Facialist Day Spa offers services for children, women, pregnant women and men.

“Imagine the sparkle of a bride on that special day with little or no make-up,” Wallace said, as she explained that the spa also caters for bridal parties, with the use of her routine facials.

Wallace said these quality services are reasonably priced, as she understands the economic challenges being faced worldwide.

“Facials range from $90 to $40…I would like to keep it within everyone’s pocket,” she said.

Quality service and affordable prices are not the only things that Wallace has to offer.

She said she has observed that there were no spas in St Vincent that offered the convenience of being in a central area.

“I wanted to have that experience of relaxation, but still be accessible to my clients,” she said.

The therapist also explained that in coming to her spa, patrons will expose themselves to a learning experience. She said that often, people walk in and out of a spa without learning anything.

“I want to educate Vincentian people on a whole lot about skincare,” Wallace said.

Wallace told SEARCHLIGHT that her goal is to make sure that her customers understand their skin type and are able to take care of their skin on their own without having to be dependent on a spa.

Additionally, Wallace stressed her use of exclusive and purely natural products, because she does not believe in chemical products for skincare, as the bad effects become prominent in the future.

She explained that her products contain SPF, which aids in protecting the skin, especially for people living in tropical weather.

“The products have ingredients geared toward our climates,” Wallace said.

The therapist, who likes to do consultations before she proceeds, said that she is “hoping to provide a whole experience, where you can come in and have a full day spa experience”.

De Facialist Day Spa launches today from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is offering free services or huge discounts to individuals that make bookings at the launch.

Online booking will also be available to clients after having three bookings at the spa.

After the launch, the spa will be open, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will not be open on Saturdays, but appointments can be made for after opening hours on weekdays.
