The digital resource, titled “Music Is Life”, is intended to enhance the teaching and learning of music in schools, particularly at the primary level.

However, the resource is designed so that it may be used by students of all age groups, with adequate teacher preparation.

The Ministry of Education said it is implementing the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment framework — the regional exam that will (from 2014) replace the Common Entrance Examination.

This digital tool can be used as a resource for student projects and portfolios.

“Music is Life” is a joint production of the Ministry of Education’s Music Department and the Education Media Unit.

At the launch, Grade 5 and 6 students and teachers of music will gather more information from deputy chief education officer and the education officers for Music and Media.
