The Digicel team led by marketing manager Juno DeRoche set up shop at the Troumaca Primary School, where they held a children’s fair with everything on the menu free of charge, compliments Digicel.

As the disc jockey played music, the children indulged themselves in free snacks like snow-cones, cotton candy, pop corn and hot dogs, while they also got their face painted with their favourite designs at the Digicel face painting booth.

The children also received free notebooks, while a number of children entered the Gangnam Style dancing competition and were rewarded with water-bottles and other prizes. The fair also held a number of gifts for parents, as persons purchasing credit were given double credit, while they were also offered the opportunity to purchase cellular phones for as low as EC$75.

Marketing manager DeRoche said that the mini fair is part of Digicel’s Christmas community outreach promotion which continued last Saturday although the Yuletide season is over.

“Our 2012 Christmas promotion is called ‘Share a Smile’ this Christmas and we took the smile to Troumaca where and we are happy we did, because it was evident that the kids had plenty of fun”, said DeRoche, who added that Troumaca was chosen, as it was a village that Digicel had never held an event in before.

DeRoche said that the principal at the Troumaca Secondary School Esther Providence-Burke helped make the day a success, as she was instrumental in spreading the word about the fair.

“This was very good for the children…they were very happy and they were looking forward to the fair for sometime”, said Providence-Burke, who urged Digicel “to keep up the good work as this is a very good thrust and a great way of giving back to the community”.

Meanwhile, tomorrow, January 26, the fun and excitement that comes with Digicel continues at Point Village, while on Saturday, February 2, the community of Canouan will come to life as Digicel continues to give back to its valued customers.
