The term “iRep” means ‘I represent’. The company launched its first line “iRep784”.

The concept of iRep784 means “I represent St Vincent and the Grenadines” — 784 being SVG’s country code.

Kenrick Quashie, owner of the iRep clothing company says “To wear the brand iRep 784 is to show that one is an ambassador for St Vincent and the Grenadines. It shows that you represent the values and all the other good stuff that represents our beautiful SVG.”

The iRep vision springs from a university quest that Quashie had while studying political science at the University of the West Indies.

“While at Cave Hill, I was concerned that SVG was too divided along partisan political lines and that we were seeing almost every issue as either yellow or red. As such, I wanted to embark on a campaign to have Vincentians home and abroad see themselves as Vincentians before members or supporters of a political party,” Quashie said in a release.

iRep has since evolved into a clothing brand. As such, it will be used to promote association, individualism and loyalty. Similar brands will be developed for other countries and social campaigns, the release further said.

iRep 784 T-shirts will be on sale. Eventually, the iRep 784 gears will be sold in stores throughout SVG and in the diaspora, on Facebook and the website.
