Daniel Cummings, Parliamentary Representative for West Kingstown and master of ceremonies of the political rally, announced that the party had initially submitted an application to stage the event and for it to run until 11 p.m.

However, immediately following a presentation by Opposition Senator Vynnette Frederick, Cummings delivered the news that the request for an extension had been denied.

“We had difficulties getting the meeting started and we asked for an extension of time and they (police) said no.”

“I know you can go until morning, but we are going to abide by the law and so all good things must come to an end,” Cummings said. (DD)
