Digicel’s marketing executive Justin John said the promotion centres around ensuring customers’ credit lasts longer.

It is in addition to its free after three minutes, international bundle, and text bundle promotions.

Marketing manager of Digicel Juno DeRoche said the promotion is also taking place in St Lucia and Grenada.

Explaining how the promotion works, DeRoche indicated that customers will subscribe to the latest service by pressing *134# followed by the send key on their handset.

By doing this, the customer will be provided with an option to select ‘free weekends’.

“If you opt into free weekends, all you have to do is press *134*90# and send and you would activate your free weekends,” DeRoche explained, adding that it will cost the user EC$15.

Media workers present at the event were also given a chance to pick a piece of paper from a bag and win a chance at free weekends.

Donnie Collins of WEFM radio station, picked a piece of paper, which saw him win a Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 smartphone.
