A release from the MCT said the free walk-in testing project is being activated with the cooperation and support of the Management at C. K. Greaves Supermarkets & Company and will take place at their three locations on a monthly basis.

The first session will take place this Thursday at the Kingstown supermarket from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the second taking place on Friday at the supermarket at Arnos Vale from 2 to 6 p.m. On Sepember 28, free tests will be done at the C.K. Greaves Marketplace at Pembroke, from 2 to 6 p.m.

“One of the MCT Grant Programme focus areas is to support medicine and screening programme’s. Recognising the very real needs in the areas of diabetes and hypertension, the Trust has developed a screening project. To provide support in this area, the Trust will conduct free tests and give basic advice. All serious cases will be advised to seek medical help from their own doctor. The tests will be administered by professional nurses belonging to the Retired Nurses Association and will be conducted in confidence. Testing will follow all medical protocols operating in St Vincent and the Grenadines,” the release from the MCT said.

The Trust expressed thanks to the Management of C K Greaves and Company and the Retired Nurses’ Association for their support and assistance with this project.
