“I am very appreciative of the fact that Karib Cable has recognized its customers and have given us these awards today. And I think it’s a very good gesture on their part,” said Steve Francis who has been a customer since the company began in 1997.

The customers were presented with gift baskets at a ceremony outside Karib Cable’s headquarters at Frenches Gate and were also informed that they will receive the next month’s service free.

Managing Director Kelly Glass said he is very proud to see the company that he and his wife have worked together to build.

“We have impacted the community, especially with the internet now. The young people are the ones that are mostly using it as an educational tool.

“The standard of cable television, I think, has maintained a very high standard by continually updating our network here and that allows us to keep a top level infrastructure,” Glass said.

Glass said the company is expanding across the Caribbean.

“We’ve got a lot of Vincentians right now in Barbados working. We’re about to roll out a network there. We have a couple of other islands that we are looking at, further north and south actually … and this is the foundation, St Vincent and the Grenadines,” Glass said.

Karib Cable also operates in St Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda.

The company continues the anniversary celebration all week, with activities including donations to the to Salvation Army and the Liberty Lodge Boys Training Centre. (AA)
