Soroptimist International SVG celebrates 25 years
Soroptimist International of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SISVG) celebrated its 25th anniversary with activities from July 13 to 16.{{more}}
Visiting Soroptimists from across the region arrived on July 13 and Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves and his wife, Eloise Gonsalves hosted an informal reception at the official residence of the Prime Minister.
A ceremony was held the following day to the launch the new school bus acquired by the Helping Hands Centre and Soroptimist SISVG.
Other celebrations included a dinner and awards ceremony at Government House on July 14, under the patronage of Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne and Lady Ballantyne.
During that event, persons were recognized for their role and contribution to the club.
On July 15, group members worshipped at the St Georgeâs Cathedral in Kingstown and were invited to participate in the church service by reading of lessons, presenting the Offertory and to deliver brief remarks on behalf of the organization. A monetary donation was given to assist in the renovation work to be carried out at the Cathedral.
The celebrations were held under the theme âOnward Together â Building on Solid Foundationsâ.
