Cuban expert arrives to work with Argyle Heritage Project team

The St Vincent and the Grenadines National Trust moves a step closer to realization of the Heritage Project at the Argyle Location.{{more}}

The Cuban Heritage Expert Dr Ana Cristina Perera Escalona arrived in the State over the weekend and will work with the National Trust Argyle Heritage Project Team and the IADC in this first visit of the three locations.

The three Sites are the proposed Argyle Escape Heritage Site with the ruins of a Sugar Factory, the Petroglyph Site and the Amerindian Village Site.

During her visit, she is expected to meet with the National Trust board members, the IADC team and officials at the Ministry of Tourism. She will also visit historical and heritage sites on the Windward and Leeward sides of the Island, Fort Duvernette, as well as examine artifacts from several sites across the state, which are on exhibition or in storage at the National Trust Headquarters, Kingstown.

The field work on the project is expected to start in the last quarter of this year.
