CED/BIMAP to offer Project Management Seminar

A two-day seminar on Project Management will be held here next month.{{more}}

The seminar is a collaborative effort of the Centre for Enterprise Development Inc (CED) and the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP). It is scheduled to take place on August 21 and 22, at the Ministry of Health Conference Room.

It is designed to provide participants with the necessary tools to improve their ability to initiate, plan, cost and evaluate the risks involved in project activities. Participants would be able to list the various tools and techniques of project initiation and planning; monitor and evaluate risks associated with projects; and implement strategies to help manage time and cost in various phases of the project.

According to CED Training Coordinator/PRO, Keisha Phillips, the seminar caters to managers, project coordinators and persons who have an interest in projects, whether they work in private, public or non-governmental organizations.

“Project management is a management discipline that creates much economic activity through the various industries and CED and BIMAP recognize that the role of different project management techniques is critical to successfully implement and execute projects,” she says.

Phillips further adds that more and more people are in need of training in Project Management; hence, she anticipates that persons here will participate fully.

“Project Management is relevant to private organizations, companies and government agencies, as they embark on development projects; so we are encouraging interested persons to take advantage of this opportunity and be part of this seminar. Registration is now open, so please ensure that you sign up before August 3, 2012.”

The two-day seminar will be facilitated by BIMAP’s Charles Marville. Interested persons can contact CED’s office for more information.
