Some time in the early hours of Sunday morning, motor vehicle PM 581, owned and driven by Clarence Shepherd of Lodge Village, became the latest in a long list of vehicles to crash through the concrete and metal barricade, and land not too far from one of the many houses situated below the road.

The driver, who was travelling out of Kingstown, lost control of the vehicle and crashed through the barricade. The vehicle landed on its hood.

Shepherd escaped unhurt.

SEARCHLIGHT understands that drivers found guilty of traffic infractions which have caused damage to the wall have been penalized, with the fines going towards the repair of the battered wall.

The traffic department of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force has urged, and continues to urge motorists to be extra cautious when driving on the Casson Hill Road, which runs from the Sion Hill intersection to the entrance to the E.T Joshua Airport.(JJ)
