The students graduated from the institution during a ceremony on Tuesday, June 19, with the theme âUnlocking the doors of Success, Choosing the right Keys.â
Feature Speaker at the event, Laura Anthony-Browne, told students that they have been given an extraordinary opportunity to excel in life, as they have been provided with quality education.
Anthony Browne shared that she did not attend her own graduation ceremony, as she did not think that she had performed well enough and was âundeserving of graduationâ.
She added that the studentsâ attendance at their graduation puts them in an advantageous position.
She assured those who are wondering âWhatâs next?â that âthis is just the beginning, life does not end here.â
Principal of the School John Renton, giving an overview of the schoolâs performance for the year stated that at the school, their motto âStriving for Excellenceâ is a way life.
Renton sang praises of the studentsâ performances academically, as well as in extra curricular activities. He made mention of the exemplary performances of the schoolâs sports teams, especially those who attended the Penn Relays 2012.
Shaquille Browne and Rosannia Stephens were recognized as male and female Sports Personalities respectively.
Giving the Valedictory address, Angelique George reminisced on the fun times experienced by herself and her classmates. She recognized the efforts of Principal and the teachers who made lasting impressions on the graduating class.
She also encouraged the students to go forth, reminding them that they are the future doctors, lawyers, and teachers.
Students were also awarded for their performance in academics and other areas.
The Student of the Year award went to Rosannia Stepens, while Jezel Greene received the most Disciplined Student award. Jamila Gibson was awarded the Most School Spirited prize with Jamel Providence awarded Most Improved Student.
