IHS past students gear up for grand reunion

Past students of the Intermediate High School (IHS) are now gearing up for a grand reunion celebration, slated for June 24 to July 5.

I.H.S. Reunion 2012 will be held under the theme, “Strengthening Bonds Forever True”, with four activities organized by a Planning Committee.{{more}}

On June 24, past students will worship at the Kingstown Methodist Church from 7:00 a.m.; then, on June 30, they will enjoy a picnic at Wallilabou; and on July 3, a moonlight lime at Diamond. The highlight of the reunion will be a cocktail on July 5 at the Cruise Ship Berth, at which tribute would be paid to the founding father of the I.H.S/Principal, the late Bertram “Timmy” Richards, as well as other stalwarts in the institution, such as the late Eardley Morgan, Henry Robertson and Ednith Providence-Mitchell.

Chairperson of the Planning Committee Keisha Phillips says they are anticipating a successful reunion. She says they’re not just hoping to renew friendships with classmates, but also to network as professionals in various fields and to foster relations that will see them engaging in activities that will benefit the I.H.S.

Phillips is appealing to past students to get on board and be part of the celebrations.

“We would like to have all past students of the school participate in this reunion, so that we can build something bigger and better for the I.H.S. This institution helped to mold us into the men and women we are today and I don’t think we can ever say thanks enough for this; so I would urge all past students to join us so that in the end we can help the school to continue its legacy.”
