Thirty-six schools will take part in the preliminary round which started yesterday, June 18, and will run until June 27.

The theme of the 2012 competition is “Our Children Talk Tourism: Embracing the Diversity of our Cultural Treasures.”

The objectives of the competition are as follows: to engage our youngest minds in the tourism discourse; to highlight the cultural tradition of choral speech as a vehicle for spreading tourism messages to the Vincentian community; to develop positive values, attitudes and behaviour through tourism messages in choral speech.

The finals of the competition will take place on Monday, July 2, at the Peace Memorial Hall at 1:00 p.m.

The Bequia Anglican Primary School was the winner of the competition in 2010 and 2011.
