The top three finalists, first place winner Jenique Nedd, second placed New Starzz and third placed Kelsie Haynes, were all gifted with Blackberry handsets.

Handing over the smart phones on Friday, June 1 at Digicel’s Corporate Offices, located in the Lewis Building on James Street, Marketing Manager at Digicel Juno DeRoche said that the company was aware of the hard work that the contestants put in, so they wanted to reward them for their tremendous efforts.

DeRoche said that Digicel is always willing to do anything they can to encourage the youths, as the youngsters are the future.

The singers who were rewarded took part in the 2012 Skinny Fabulous Vita Malt Next Big Thing competition, which was held at the Nutricia hard court on May 26.

Nedd represented the Community College, while the male group (4 members) New Starzz represented the Campden Park Secondary School. Haynes is a student at the Girls’ High School.

Organizer of the event, Gamal ‘Skinny Fabulous’ Doyle of Stickman Entertainment, who was on hand to witness the handing over, thanked Digicel for being part of the event which sought to help nurture the young talent that exists in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
