Diamond Jubilee Committee holds stamp exhibition

The Jubilee Stamp Exhibition opened with a small ceremony at the St Vincent and the Grenadines National Trust Headquarters Hall in the Carnegie Old Public Library on Granby Street, last Saturday morning.{{more}}

The Stamp Display was mounted by the St Vincent Philatelic Services, and features several stamp issues of Royal Events and the Royal Family members, in particular Her Majesty the Queen.

The Exhibition provides another window into the world of stamp collecting.

The Philatelic Services is currently selling a gold stamp valued at ten dollars ($10.00) each. A release from René Baptiste, Chairperson of the local Diamond Jubilee organizing committee, says this may be a “worthwhile investment,” bearing in mind a Vincentian stamp fetched over one million pounds (£1 million) on the market not too long ago.

The Stamp Exhibition will continue at the National Public Library.
